The terms scull, single scull and skiff can be used for any light single person rowing boat. Sculling is the sport of rowing where each person uses two oars, more properly also called sculls. Sculling is done in singles or in crews of 2, 4 or 8 persons. Sweep rowing is where each person has a single oar. This is done in crews of 2, 4 or 8.
