transporting your edon
The Edon TS515 is only 17 feet long, can be unrigged in seconds, weighs 45lbs and is extremely robust. All of these features make the Edon an ideal rowing boat for car topping and for recreational use.
Any car rack system that caters for kayaks will usually fit the Edon and even if you don't have a rack system for you vehicle the Edon can be car topped either on roof bars or on the car roof using low price foam blocks.

Kayak "J" brackets mounted on standard car roof bars.
At 17 feet long the Edon is not much longer than many cars and so overhang is not a big problem.
Most kayak rack systems will work with the Edon TS515. Thule, Yakima, Malone and other make a wide variety of products ranging in price from a few dollars to several hundred. Below and right are a few options:
Hull rollers: These attach to roof bars and help slide your rowing boat onto the roof of the car. Usually you will have these on the rear roof bar with standard cradles on the front.
Standard cradles or yokes provide support for the hull of your rowing boat and can be used in conjunction with rollers or on their own. They clamp directly to roof bars and are usually easily adjustable for width.
"J" cradles, an inexpensive option used in pairs, these are very popular with kayakers the boat being loaded from the side of the vehicle.
Dollies
A dolly can make moving rowing boats and kayaks short distances very easy and are inexpensive to buy. We recommend the Wheeleez range. Please see the Accessories page by using the tab above.
